Homebrew for Hunger Charlottesville

Grab your growlers and your brewing buddies…Homebrew for Hunger is coming to Charlottesville!

Join us on Saturday, November 9th from 5-8 pm at Fifth Season Gardening on Preston Avenue to sample a wide variety of craft beers from over  local homebrewers and area craft breweries.  Whether you enjoy brewing your own, or just drinking the good stuff, this is a great opportunity to mix and mingle with folks who really know their beer.

With over 60 craft beers flowing from the taps of over 40 local hobby brewers, Homebrew for Hunger Charlottesville is the place to be for beer lovers. You can also try small batches from craft brewers from across the region including Three Notch’d, Devils Backbone, Starr Hill, Champion, Wild Wolf and Blue Mountain.

All proceeds (literally, ever dime earned!) will go to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.  We are pleased to be supporting them in their mission to provide nutritious food for people in need.  The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank distributes to 25 counties and 9 cities in central and western Virginia through a network of community organizations.  Check out their website, www.brafb.org, to find out more about their awesome projects.

Homebrew for Hunger is an annual event that started in Chapel Hill, NC as a way for home brewers to share their crafted beverages with a mass audience while simultaneously providing assistance to area homes and families in need.  Already in its third year, it draws five hundred attendees to sample fifty plus home brews and has raised over $15,000 for charity.  Now it’s our turn in Charlottesville to show our support for local artisans and a good cause.

Tickets are only $20 and are available now!  In addition to attending the event, you can help out by bringing canned and packaged food items to donate to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.  For every can of food donated (maximum 3), you receive a raffle ticket to win various prizes donated by the generous businesses of Charlottesville.  Raffle tickets will also be available to purchase.
