Homebrew for Hunger in Charlottesville was an amazing success! A huge thanks to every brewer and beer lover that came out on Saturday. We raised over $5,800 for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. And congratulations to the homebrewers that took home awards for their creations. James Hansen & Loren Moulds won best beer for their Mosaic IPA and will get to brew it up at Three Notch'd and have it served on tap! Andy Poole also won the best-in-show brewer for his Oaked and Smoked Belgian, Double IPA, ESB and Coffee Porter. Raffle winners will be announced soon!
What is Homebrew for Hunger?
Homebrew for Hunger is the premiere (and as far as we know, only) festival to showcase truly local beer made by homebrewers and craft breweries, bringing professional and novice brewers together under one roof. The festival allows beer lovers to interact with unique flavors, varietals, and techniques and learn about the art of making beer straight from the source. Best of all, every penny raised at the event goes to a local charity dedicated to hunger relief.
